2. Eligibility for Refunds

You are eligible for a full refund if:

  • Technical Issues: You experienced persistent technical problems that prevented you from using the Service, and our support team was unable to resolve them
  • Service Not as Described: The Service did not function as described on our website or in our marketing materials
  • Duplicate Purchase: You accidentally purchased the same filing year or extension twice
  • Change of Mind: You decided not to proceed with your filing within 30 days of purchase and have not yet submitted forms to the IRS

3. Refund Exclusions

Refunds are not available in the following circumstances:

  • Forms Already Filed: If you have already submitted your forms to the IRS (via fax or mail) using our Service
  • After 30 Days: More than 30 days have passed since your purchase date
  • Completed Service: You have successfully generated, signed, and downloaded your forms and indicated the filing was complete
  • User Error: Incorrect information was provided by you (we are not responsible for accuracy of data you input)
  • IRS Rejection: The IRS rejected your filing due to data errors, late filing penalties, or other issues outside our control
  • Change in Circumstances: Your business situation changed after purchase (entity sold, dissolved, etc.)

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  2. Provide Details: Include your account email, purchase date, and reason for the refund request
  3. Response Time: We will respond to your request within 2 business days
  4. Review Process: Our team will review your request and verify eligibility

5. Refund Processing

Once your refund is approved:

  • Processing Time: Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days of approval
  • Payment Method: Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for purchase (credit card via Stripe)
  • Bank Processing: Depending on your bank, it may take an additional 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account

6. Partial Refunds

7. Account Access After Refund

Please note:

  • Upon issuing a refund, your access to the purchased filing year(s) will be revoked
  • You will no longer be able to generate, download, or access documents for refunded filings
  • Any data you entered will be retained for 30 days in case you change your mind, after which it will be permanently deleted
  • Your account remains active and you can purchase again at any time

8. Technical Issues and Support First

Before requesting a refund for technical issues, we encourage you to contact our support team at support@forms.diy. Most technical problems can be resolved quickly, and we're committed to ensuring you can successfully complete your filing.

9. Chargebacks

Important: If you dispute a charge with your bank or credit card company (chargeback) instead of contacting us for a refund, your account will be immediately suspended pending resolution. Chargebacks incur significant fees and processing costs. We strongly encourage you to contact us directly first so we can resolve any issues amicably.

10. Subscription vs. One-Time Purchase

forms.diy operates on a one-time payment per filing year model, not a subscription service. There are no recurring charges. Each purchase grants you access to complete filings for a specific tax year. This refund policy applies to these one-time purchases only.

11. Changes to Refund Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. Your purchase is governed by the Refund Policy in effect at the time of purchase. Material changes will be communicated via email to active users.
